John Scalzi’s long running blog – Whatever – gets 35,000 hits a day – 35 thousand! I on the other hand could fit all of my blog readers in a couple of London Buses. (That’s actually a nice idea. We should do that one day and all go down to the seaside.)

It’s a great weblog and one of the blogs that inspired me to start Gratuitous Socks. John recently posted his opinions on the candidates in the US presidential election. It’s a sensible bar-room type critique of the state of the race. You can find it here.

If like me you spent your adolescence devouring pulpy science fiction novels by the score, then read his début novel Old Man’s War and get back some of the joy of curling up with a really fun story.
